Practical completion of the Victorian Heart Hospital

It is with great excitement that Monash Health has officially received the Victorian Heart Hospital building in Clayton from the builders.

Monash Health is now able to complete training, commissioning and the final fit-out as we prepare for our first patients on 23 February 2023.

The Victorian Heart Hospital is the southern hemisphere’s first specialist cardiac hospital, where our partnership with Monash University means hospital and clinical care will be integrated with world-leading research and education.

Evidence across the globe is that heart hospitals change lives, improve patient outcomes and accelerate the translation of major discoveries into patient treatments.

It’s an exciting time for Monash Health and strengthens our role in delivering high-quality, timely care. For those interested in working at the Victorian Heart Hospital, or who have friends and family who may be interested, some vacancies still exist. For more information, please visit our Victorian Heart Hospital Careers webpage.

Thank you to everyone who has been involved in making the Victorian Heart Hospital a reality since it was announced in 2015.
