Volunteer

Monash Health recognises that volunteer involvement is a critical part of Australian society. It contributes to civil society and active participation in building strong, inclusive, and resilient communities. It underlies innovation and social change, our responses to community needs and community challenges, and it brings together and supports the local strengths and assets of communities.

Why volunteer at Monash Health?

Volunteering at Monash Health

See the difference you can make in the lives of our patients by volunteering at Monash Health.

Monash Health has a long history of engaging volunteer services dating back to the 1850s. Every day across Monash Health, volunteers play a vital role in supporting staff, visitors, patients, families, and carers during what can be the most challenging of circumstances. Whilst traditionally volunteering has been conceived of in terms of workforce support, a way to ‘give back’ or a means of providing career experience, more recently volunteers in healthcare have been viewed as having a significant role to play in improving patient and staff experience. As such, Monash Health volunteers are considered integral in supporting a strategic approach to improving patient care and experience outcomes. Volunteers are valued as an important part of the Monash Health team and we trust, that whatever your reason for volunteering, your volunteering experience at Monash Health will be both rewarding and enjoyable.
