Media: Carlton players spread festive cheer at Monash Children’s Hospital

Just ahead of Christmas, we welcomed some very special gift-bearing Navy Blue guests to Monash Children’s Hospital.
In partnership with the Monash Health Foundation, 12 players from the Carlton Football Club kicked goals across Forrest, Aviary, and PICU wards as part of the club’s Christmas toy drive, to deliver donated gifts and festive cheer to patients and their families.

9News joined to capture the festive fun, with players handing out an array of gifts such as Lego, soft toys, beach balls, and puzzles.

The players took time to chat with patients and their families, a few of whom were devout Carlton fans, to discuss holiday plans, next year’s AFL season, and special requests for Santa. The players even met a committed Collingwood supporter, gifting him a soccer ball as a compromise!

Players handed out an array of gifts such as Lego, soft toys, beach balls, and puzzles.

‘It’s been awesome to put a smile on (patients’) faces and hopefully bring some joy,’ Carlton player Harry O’Farrell.

A big thank you to the Carlton Football Club and Monash Health Foundation for organising a toy drive and putting smiles on the faces of our patients and their families during the holiday season.
