Allied health

Together with doctors and nurses, allied health practitioners are regarded as the third pillar of health care providers in Australia.

At Monash Health, more than 1,000 allied health practitioners play a critical role in diagnosis, recovery and quality of life for people of all ages across all specialties. You will find allied health practitioners in our hospitals, facilities and community and mental health services.

Practitioners work in multi-disciplinary teams with medical and nursing staff to facilitate quality, effective and efficient health care. Allied health practitioners may deliver direct patient care or provide support in diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation and health improvement interventions to restore and maintain optimal physical, sensory, psychological, cognitive and social functions.
