Victorian Heart Hospital welcomes its first ambulances

As part of our planned staged opening of the Victorian Heart Hospital, we are pleased to announce the first ambulance arrivals and commencement of inpatient services at Australia’s first dedicated cardiac facility.

It’s been wonderful to welcome patients from across our hospitals to the Victorian Heart Hospital to continue their cardiac care with Monash Health.

Cardiac Emergency is now welcoming ambulances with patients needing emergency cardiac care. This new facility will see cardiac specialists working side by side with our emergency team using the latest equipment and technology to assess, diagnose and care for patients triaged by Ambulance Victoria.

As part of the planned staged opening, Cardiac Emergency is currently only treating patients triaged by Ambulance Victoria. Patients requiring emergency care should call triple zero (000).

If you suspect that you are experiencing cardiac symptoms or need urgent medical attention, please dial triple zero (000) immediately.
