Our COVID-19 vaccination centre in Cranbourne is open

We are excited to announce our first high-volume COVID-19 vaccination centre in Cranbourne is now open. Located at the Cranbourne Turf Club, we will be offering the AstraZeneca vaccine as an essential step toward protecting our community against COVID-19. Our Head of Infection Prevention and Epidemiology, Professor Rhonda Stuart, said, “There was great energy at the centre with people so keen they arrived for their appointments an hour before we opened this morning and were happy to wait.”

“The uptake has been remarkable with the centre fully booked today and plenty of walk-ins; we were well over our target with 580 vaccinations delivered. It’s a testament to the hard work of everyone on the Program Team and those supporting it that we have been able to deliver such a vital service.”

The Victorian Department of Health’s COVID-19 Commander, Jeroen Weimar, was one of the many joining the queue this morning, receiving his first dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine and joining the fight against COVID-19.

Bookings are open for anyone aged 50 years or above and under 50 with informed consent. If you, your friends or family fall into these categories and are yet to be vaccinated, we encourage you to book in at the new centre.

To book an appointment, please call 1800 675 398. As you progress through the call, select option 1, then option 1, then option 1. The centre is open every day from 9.00am to 5.00pm. Although walk-ins are accepted between 9.00am and 3.00pm daily, we recommend booking an appointment before attending the centre to avoid delays or disappointment.
