Monash Health Vaccination Bus drives up booster doses

Getting protected against COVID-19 has never been easier thanks to the help of one special bus and our wonderful vaccination team.

Monash Health has innovatively repurposed a bus to be a vaccination clinic on wheels, traveling around Melbourne’s South East with our team offering walk-in COVID-19 vaccinations for the community.

The Monash Health Vaccination Bus set up shop in front of the Monash Civic Centre on February 25 where the Victorian Minister for Health, the Hon. Martin Foley MP, and Victoria’s COVID Response Commander, Jeroen Weimar, came out to acknowledge the great work the bus was doing in the community. Victoria’s COVID Response Commander,  Jeroen Weimar, spoke to media outside the vaccination bus about the important role it will play in delivering vaccines.Whether it’s at half-time during the game, or a temple, church or mosque – we are taking vaccines to wherever is most convenient for you and your community,” Minister Foley said.

The team behind the clinic-on-wheels had the opportunity to speak to both Martin Foley and Jeroen Weimar to share the work they’ve been doing to deliver vaccines to vulnerable members of the community.

The Monash Health Vaccination Bus can provide COVID-19 vaccine doses for people aged 12 and above and is available for walk-ins – no bookings are required.Monash Health immuniser Yuting explains the vaccination process to a patient on the bus.The bus will next head to Casey Fields inside the Casey Demons carpark on February 26 between 2:30pm and 7:30pm, with future times and locations to be published on the Monash Health South East Public Health Unit website.
