Monash Health team’s multidisciplinary approach facilitates a Mother’s Day triumph

We’re proud to share this remarkable story of personal resilience and the many world-leading specialists at Monash Health who worked together to bring baby Maisie into the world, as published by The Age on Mother’s Day.

At the centre of this story is Jaqueline Boyle, who, despite battling severe health conditions, defied all odds and welcomed baby Maisie in April 2023. A bone marrow transplant from her sister Rochelle, and a five-year IVF journey, coupled with the work of Monash Health’s expert multidisciplinary team, contributed to this heartwarming outcome.

Associate Professor Ryan Hodges, Director of Maternity Services, was part of the team that navigated this complex case, describing Jaqueline’s journey as an “extraordinary road with many twists and turns.”

The story featured in The Age details the depth of this extraordinary journey. It’s a tribute to Jaqueline’s resilience and our incredible people’s relentless efforts.
