Monash Children’s Hospital turns five!

Tuesday 19 March, saw the wards of the Monash Children’s Hospital (MCH) bustling with activity to celebrate five years since patients first moved in.

Stormtroopers, Starlight Captains, and book and movie characters roamed the wards, while patients were treated to colouring-in and cupcakes.

MCH General Manager, Kym Forrest – appearing as Anna from Frozen – was amongst the celebrations.

“It’s been a great day so far. We’ve celebrated with some lovely cupcakes, a colouring competition with the Starlight team, ‘Happy Birthday’ badges and of course, fancy dress for the staff – so lots of fun.”

MCH cares for more than 100,000 children every year.

“Sometimes it’s felt like two years and other days it’s felt like 10 – but it’s been a great journey to date and there are so many opportunities as we move forward towards turning 10,” said Kym.

Thank you to the incredible team who provide the best care and support to our patients and families at MCH.
