Celebrating Make Music Day 2021 at Monash Children’s Hospital

This week at Monash Children’s Hospital, we celebrated Make Music Day, a nationwide event for everyone to make music anywhere and everywhere.

Our Music Therapy Team came together in the Children’s Allied Health Outpatient Therapies waiting area to provide live music for our patients, their families, and our employees.

The team sang and played a variety of instruments to share the benefits of actively making music together.

Some feedback from patients and families included “what a great way to start the week” and “the session brought so much joy to us all”!

The Music Therapy services at Monash Health provides support across our acute, subacute, community and mental health services for patients and their families. Our clinicians use music as the medium to actively support people as they aim to improve their health, functioning and well-being. It can help people of all ages to manage their physical and mental health and enhance their quality of life.
