Monash Health delivers services at Sandringham Hospital

From 6 February 2023, Monash Health is delighted to provide maternity, newborn and gynaecology services at Alfred Health’s Sandringham Hospital.

As Victoria’s largest provider of maternity care, supporting over 10,000 women each year to give birth, we look forward to seamlessly continuing the high-quality care that patients are used to receiving at Sandringham.

Taking advantage of the close geographic location of Monash Health’s services, patients in need of higher-level care will be transferred to Monash Medical Centre, reducing transfer times considerably.

Maternity, newborn and gynaecology services at Alfred Health’s Sandringham Hospital were previously provided by the Royal Women’s Hospital. Local team members have transferred to Monash Health Women’s and will continue to provide the same great care at the same location. A bolstered cohort of Senior Medical Staff will join them to ensure all pregnancies receive woman-centred care with a positive and supported birth experience.

“We are thrilled to welcome approximately 140 staff across nursing, midwifery, medical, administrative, and health information teams to Monash Health,” said Andrea Rindt, General Manager of Monash Health Women’s and Newborn Program.

“It is an exciting opportunity to learn from each other while delivering excellent care to women, their families and babies in the bayside area,” Andrea said.

All other care services at Sandringham Hospital continue to be provided by Alfred Health.

More information on maternity, newborn and gynaecology services at Sandringham Hospital is available on the Monash Health Women’s website.
