Allied Health Assistant careers at Monash Health

Monash Health is an industry leader for the Allied Health Assistant (AHA) workforce and is an ideal workplace for both early career and established AHAs to grow and thrive.

Allied Health Assistants are a highly valued workforce within Monash Health and work within a range of disciplines including physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech pathology, dietetics, social work, exercise physiology, podiatry and in other multidisciplinary teams across hospital and community settings.

About our Allied Health Assistant (AHA) team

Monash Health has one of the largest AHA workforces in the state and supports AHAs to broaden their skills and scope-of-practice through a robust competency and credentialing program, a strong supervision structure, and regular professional development opportunities.

For AHAs looking to grow their careers, Monash Health offers pathways into leadership, non-clinical roles in workforce projects, education and development, and opportunities to contribute to quality improvement and workforce advancement.

Each year, Monash Health hosts AHA Day, which is a national conference for AHAs across Australia and New Zealand.

In 2020, Monash Health collaborated with the Victorian Department of Health in the 3-year Victorian Allied Health Assistant Workforce Project culminating in the development of workforce recommendations and resources to optimise utilisation of AHAs in all sectors. These recommendations and resources are now being implemented across Victoria.

With sites across southeast Melbourne, at Monash Health there are opportunities for AHAs to work close to home and fit their careers with their lifestyle.
