Imaging equipment upgrades for Monash Health hospitals

On Tuesday 17 January, Monash Health Chief Executive Professor Andrew Stripp and Board Chair, Dipak Sanghvi, along with Monash Health Imaging Program Director, Associate Professor Ronnie Ptasznik, Monash Health Imaging General Manager, Aimee Marriott and Casey Hospital General Manager, Jo Morey, welcomed the Acting Premier, the Hon. Jacinta Allan and Acting Minister for Health and Health Infrastructure, the Hon. Lizzie Blandthorn to announce the Medical Equipment Replacement Program and Engineering Infrastructure Replacement Program grant recipients 2023.

Through the Medical Equipment Replacement Program, the Victorian Government announced a series of investments for Monash Health Imaging, including:

  • A computed tomography (CT) unit and general x-ray unit at Casey Hospital
  • A magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) unit and gamma camera at Monash Medical Centre
  • A Positron Emission Tomography and CT system at Moorabbin Hospital

The funding for Monash Health Imaging will allow our hospitals to utilise state-of-the-art equipment, offering a full range of diagnostic, therapeutic tests and interventional services to the community.

These equipment upgrades will support Monash Health patients to receive the most accurate imaging and test results with the lowest radiation dose possible now and in the years to come.
