The Monash Health Colorectal Surgery Unit is based at Dandenong Hospital. It also provides clinical services at other Monash Health campuses in Casey, Cranbourne, Moorabbin and Clayton. The Colorectal Unit in-patient ward is located at North 3 in Dandenong Hospital.
Elective Surgery is performed at Dandenong, Casey, Cranbourne and occasionally at Clayton.
The colorectal surgical service provide management for the following conditions:
- Colorectal Cancer with a multidisciplinary team approach
- Colon and Rectal Resections (open and laparoscopic)
- Lower gastrointestinal and anorectal bleeding
- Large bowel obstruction
- Inflammatory bowel disease
- Diverticular disease
- Anorectal disorders including haemorrhoids, fistula, fissures
- Pilonidal sinus
- Faecal incontinence and other pelvic floor disorders
Outpatient Clinic
Colorectal Outpatients is held every Tuesday afternoon from 1.30pm to 5.00pm, Outpatient Clinic, Level 2, Dandenong Hospital. Pelvic floor clinic is once a month on a Tuesday, Clinic 1C, Moorabbin Campus.
