Clarivate’s annual list of Highly Cited Researchers recognises influential researchers in the sciences and social sciences from around the world, who have demonstrated significant and broad influence in their fields of research.
The researchers included on the list have authored multiple highly cited papers, which are ranked in the world’s top 1% by citations for their fields and publication year.
The groundbreaking trials and cardiovascular research led by Professor Nicholls and his team highlight the power of the collaborative ecosystem that is Victorian Heart Hospital and Monash University’s Victorian Heart Institute research program, which integrates world-leading cardiac care, research, and education.
Monash Health clinician, Professor Teede, also serves as the Director of the Monash Centre for Health Research and Implementation, a partnership between Monash Health and Monash University based at the Monash Medical Centre. She holds an Order of Australia for services to women’s health.

Both Professor Nicholls and Professor Teede are also on the Stanford/Elsevier Top 2% Scientists List for 2025, along with 14 colleagues from Monash Health.
Developed jointly by Stanford University and academic publishing company Elsevier, this list identifies the top 2% of scientists worldwide by standardised citation metrics.
