We work closely with midwives, obstetricians, infectious diseases paediatricians and microbiology laboratories in the clinical management of pregnant women with infectious diseases, including:

  • Cytomegalovirus (CMV)
  • Hepatitis B
  • Hepatitis C
  • HIV
  • Syphilis
  • Toxoplasmosis
  • Tuberculosis

Monash Infections In Pregnancy Clinic

Private Consultations
Outpatient appointments with Prof Michelle Giles and other Monash Infectious Diseases Physicians are available.

Inpatient service
We provide a specialist consultation service for women with infections in pregnancy who are inpatients at Monash Medical Centre Clayton, Dandenong Hospital and Casey Hospital.

Monash Infectious Diseases provides a specialist consultation service for women with infections in pregnancy who are inpatients at Jessie McPherson Private Hospital. Patients are generally charged Gap Cover fees billed directly via their Private Insurance company with no out-of-pocket costs for inpatient consultations.
