Dr Sarah Heynemann

Dr Sarah Heynemann is a Melbourne-based medical oncologist. She completed her medical oncology training through the Victorian Medical Oncology Training Program (Bendigo Health, St Vincent’s Health and Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre), before pursuing clinical research fellowships in thoracic oncology (Chris O’Brien Lifehouse) and clinical trials (St Vincent’s Hospital).
She is currently pursuing a PhD at the University of Sydney, exploring ethical and epistemic (knowledge) related issues at the interface of oncology and novel clinical trial design. This research has been supported by the NHMRC scholarship scheme, with findings presented locally and internationally.
She is currently deputy chair for the Medical Oncology Group of Australia (MOGA) ethics subcommittee. She is involved in ethics teaching within the medical program at Monash University, and also teaches within the Master of Cancer Sciences at the University of Melbourne.
