Dr. David Lau MBBS PhD FRACP

Dr David Lau is a Medical Oncologist sub-specialising in gastrointestinal cancers. After graduating from the University of Western Australia, he completed physician and Oncology training in Melbourne. In 2019, he completed a laboratory-based PhD at the Olivia Newton-John Cancer Research Institute in upper gastrointestinal cancers which was funded by grants from Pancare and the Australasian Gastrointestinal Trials Group (AGITG). He was the inaugural recipient of the AGITG Clinical Research Fellowship where he furthered his clinical and research interests in gastrointestinal malignancies at the Royal Marsden Hospital, London.

Dr Lau has presented his research at national and international conferences and has published widely in the field of gastrointestinal malignancies in journals including Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews, British Journal of Cancer and Nature Medicine. He is an active member of the European Society of Medical Oncology, American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) and the AGITG.
