Every health service in Australia is expected to uphold the requirements of the National Clinical Trials Governance Framework (NCTGF) implemented by the Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care (ACSQH). This Framework focuses on two key standards from the National Safety and Quality in Healthcare Service Standards to embed clinical trials into routine health service provision and strengthen the clinical and corporate governance arrangements for health service organisations (HSOs) that deliver a clinical trial service.

In March 2025, Monash Health underwent its first assessment against the Framework using a maturity scaling system and was marked as a growing healthcare organisation.
