Education and Training

The library provides expert guidance and training to Monash Health professionals and affiliated students. Training resources support life-long learning and can be applied to research projects, improvement projects, ongoing study and professional development.

Monthly webinars on evidence-based practice include literature searching, grey literature, critical appraisal, visual design and EndNote. You may also request custom group training or an individual research consult to optimise a search methodology. Learning material is available in the library’s collection of study guides, BMJ Learning modules and via the Monash Health YouTube channel.

Library Webinars

Attend a library webinar to gain insight on evidence-based practice, literature searching, research skills and more. These interactive sessions give you the opportunity to ask questions specific to your learning needs. Webinars are held regularly on a range of topics.

Contact the Library if you would like to arrange group training sessions to fit in with a team meeting or existing professional development schedule. Please complete this form to request or discuss your training requirements.  

Research Consultation

Request a one-on-one consultation for guidance and training on how to incorporate advanced search strategies into Monash Health research. Online or in-person consultations provide in-depth guidance on the PICO framework, search strategies, database training and managing search results.

Visit the Monash Health Library YouTube channel for handy videos on setting up clinical apps, how to obtain remote tokens, creating search alerts, copyright guidance and more.

BMJ Learning

Free access to BMJ Learning online education modules for Monash Health employees. Hundreds of independent, evidence-based modules for a range of specialties. 

  1. First register for an individual BMJ Best Practice account using your Monash Health email address.
  2. Go to the BMJ Learning homepage click Log In (NOT sign up) and enter your BMJ individual login details.
