About

The Kingston Centre provides a broad range of integrated services, predominantly, for the Aged. We aim to support people in our community to reach and maintain health independence and wellness.

We provide care for residents living in the municipalities of Bayside, Monash, Kingston, Greater Dandenong, Casey and Cardinia. Our care includes Sub-Acute, Aged Mental Health, Residential as well as a full range of Allied Health Services.

Our specialist health care and support services to older people include Aged Care Assessments, Cognitive Dementia and Memory services, Clinics for Falls and Balance, Continence, Pain, Dental, Movement Disorders, as well as Rehab in The Home and a Transitional Care Program.

Our researchers are at the forefront of research into movement and gait disorders, aged mental health and geriatric medicine.

The Kingston Centre is home to Allambee Nursing Home.

How do I get to the Kingston Centre?

The Kingston Centre is located on the corner of Warrigal and Heatherton Roads in Cheltenham (400 Warrigal Road, Cheltenham).

Car parking for patients and visitors is available in the designated Visitor Car Parking areas. Patient drop-off and pick-up is available at the front entrance of our buildings. Parking in side streets is subject to local parking restrictions.

The closest railway station is Oakleigh station which is on the Dandenong/Pakenham line. Take the Route 903 “Smartbus” service from Oakleigh Station to the Kingston Centre (Bus stop “Kingston Centre/opposite 359 Warrigal Road”).

Local bus routes 631 and 821 stop in Heatherton Road, adjacent to the Kingston Centre.

Parking

Paid Visitor car parking is available in the designated Visitor parking areas.

Concession parking tickets are available on presentation of a valid pension or health care card to the Cashier 8:30am-4:30pm and to Reception from 4:30pm until 7pm.

Two Acres Café

The Two Acres Café offers staff and visitors a place to sit and relax, whilst enjoying a variety of hot food, fresh sandwiches, focaccias and salads, as well as yoghurts and a tea or coffee from the espresso coffee bar.

Pastoral care

Sacred Space, Prayer Room

A Sacred Space is available in the middle of the site. This is a shared space where all faiths and understandings of spirituality are respected. This is a place for anyone who would like to take time out to reflect, pray or simply be still.

Pastoral Care Team

  • Pastoral Care workers offer support to all patients, family members and staff
  • Visiting Ministers and Chaplains support people within specific faith tradition
  • ‘On Call’ Clergy and Chaplains are available from most faith traditions for people seeking support from someone of their tradition
  • Our pastoral care coordinator may be contacted by telephone on 9265 1812

Discharge

Discharge is approximately 10am after consultation with treating medical staff.

Medication and further appointment information will be provided on discharge by our staff if applicable.

Medical transport will be organised if applicable, or taxi services will be arranged at the patient’s cost.

Hairdresser

A hairdresser for patients attends the Kingston Centre each Monday and Thursday.
