Research within General Medicine

Monash Health General Medicine values a culture that promotes clinical curiosity. Curiosity drives research and innovation, both of which enhance the care of our patients and our community.

The recently established Monash Health General Medicine Research Group will provide leadership and a clear research strategy across all sites. This strategy will focus on making research a core feature of what we do in General Medicine. It will prioritise collaboration and aim to provide our staff with the environment and resources required for research success.

Some key research themes that we believe are crucial to shaping the future of General Medicine have been established and include:

  1. Point-of-care ultrasound
  2. Health services research
  3. Heart failure
  4. Peri-operative medicine

Dissemination of research either by conference presentation or journal publication is encouraged and will be celebrated.

Below are some key highlights from our recent research activities, along with a link to our repository.
