Dino is an emergency physician and clinical toxicologist, working at Monash Health and St Vincent’s Hospital, Melbourne. He recently completed a sabbatical at Monash Simulation, where he was involved in developing the Toxicology Course, and has continued on to become a simulation instructor at both health services.
In his role as a clinical toxicologist consulting for the National Poisons Centres, he has developed an understanding of the challenges in managing critically unwell patients when distant from resources, and the significant improvements that clear communication and organisation can bring to patient care.
He is passionate about bringing this experience to simulation based education, and looking at how to understand human factors and improve communication in order to optimise patient care.
When not at work, he can be found relaxing with his young family, listening to records, and spending time on the beaches of Phillip Island.
