Occupational Therapy

Information about NDIS Occupational Therapy services at Monash Health.

Occupational Therapy

Occupational therapists help people who are finding it hard to do everyday things on their own.

They can also help make carers’ jobs easier.

The occupational therapist will help you identify your strengths and difficulties, and help you work out practical solutions. These might include ways to make it easier to get dressed or move safely around your home.

What we do

Occupational therapists help people who are having difficulty with everyday activities (activities that occupy you). They help you maintain, regain or improve your independence. They can do this by using different techniques, providing you with equipment or changing your environment. Some of the things they can do include:

  • providing advice and recommendations to improve how you do everyday activities
  • working with you to provide equipment to make activities easier (assistive equipment)
  • helping you move around more easily (mobility needs eg: wheelchair and scooters)
  • helping with changes to your home to make it safer (home modifications)
  • writing NDIS required reports
