Falls and Balance Clinic – Adult

The Falls and Balance Clinic is an assessment-only specialist multidisciplinary clinic ​for people who are experiencing issues with falls, balance and dizziness, affecting their mobility particularly when the reason or cause of the problem is unknown and/or requires further investigation. Medical recommendations are made and sent to the GP for follow-up.​

Eligibility Criteria:

People can use this service if they:

• live in the Monash Health catchment
• are experiencing falls &/or balance problems, particularly where the cause is unknown​
• are experiencing vestibular problems​

People cannot use this service if they:

• have a previously diagnosed condition relating to their falls​
• reside in residential/supported care​
• are paediatric or younger adults (under 65) except for with vestibular dysfunction.

• Include all patient:
  • demographic and medical history (past and current)
  • current medications
  • recent relevant medical investigation results
  • details of specialists involved​.
• Clearly state dizziness or vertigo symptoms on the referral to assist with triage​.
