Counselling provides professional assistance and guidance to assist clients to resolve personal or psychological issues, support making changes in life and fostering wellbeing. Counsellors provide help with issues such as anxiety, depression, stress and grief.
Eligibility Criteria:
This service is for people aged 18-65 with a disability or long-term impairment living in the City of Greater Dandenong, City of Casey and Cardinia Shire.
This service is not:
- available for Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) or Chronic Disease Management Plans
- for people requiring urgent or immediate counselling (call Psychiatric Triage 1300 369 012)
- for people with current suicidal thoughts (call Psychiatric Triage 1300 369 012)
- ante-natal or post-natal depression or anxiety (refer to the Paediatric Counselling here)
- for drug and alcohol related counselling (Call SECADA 1800 142 536)
- for family violence counselling (call SECASA 9928 8741)
- for people experiencing paranoia or hallucinations (call Psychiatric Triage 1300 369 012)
