About our service

Monash Health High Risk Foot Service provides best practice inpatient and outpatient care for patients with diabetes and complex limb threatening complications.

The aim of the service is to provide evidence based, best practice care to patients with complex diabetes related (and other high risk) foot complications with a focus on reducing hospital admissions, minimising length of stay and reducing the rates of major amputation. The service is jointly run by Podiatry, Vascular (including Interventional Radiology), Diabetes with input from Infectious Diseases and Orthopaedics.

Inpatient and outpatient services are available.

Monash Health High Risk Foot Service offers Telehealth consultation in support of patient care.

In 2020, Monash Health was awarded with a National Association Diabetes Centre’s High Risk Foot Service Centre of Excellence.
