Nephrology

Monash Health Nephrology cares for the renal treatment requirements of people located in southeast metropolitan Melbourne and Gippsland. This includes diagnosis, disease management, dialysis (haemodialysis and peritoneal), transplantation (kidney and pancreas) and supportive care.

Nephrology also includes a clinical research unit and a research laboratory unit that are both world renowned. Nephrology also operates the Victorian Big Red Kidney Bus, a mobile dialysis unit for dialysis patients seeking to take a holiday and receive dialysis whilst on holidays.

Glomerulonephritis Clinic

The Glomerulonephritis Clinic is for patients with complex renal problems, often with co morbidities, it is an assessment/pre-treatment and management clinic and includes ante-natal referrals.

  • GP’s are requested to refer onto this service using the Nephrology referral guidelines (above).

Note: Patients ineligible for Medicare will be charged a fee for all services provided.

Please note that from 27 August 2024 until late October, Clayton Road is completely closed to all non-emergency traffic between Monash Medical Centre and Haughton Road, just south of the railway line.Learn more
