Breast Services

Monash Breast Services provides a full range of care for all types of breast disease. Assessment of symptoms, diagnosis and management of breast cancer and pre-cancerous disease is the focus of the service as well as being actively involved in many research programs.

Monash Breast Services provides a coordinated service from point of diagnosis to post treatment and follow-up with the patients GP. The service is a multidisciplinary approach to provide a high quality, integrated service to breast cancer patients. Treatment is discussed with the multidisciplinary team and a treatment plan is developed according to the specific needs of the patient.

Referrals

GP and specialist referrals are accepted for this service. Referrals should include:

  • Address referral to the Head of Unit: Dr Corinne Wei Leng Ooi
  • Relevant clinical history for the patient
  •  The reason for referral
  •  Patient’s details including address, date of birth and contact phone numbers
  •  Your provider number
  •  The name of consultant (for Medicare clinics)
  • Recent breast imaging must be completed (where relevant) and attached to the referral. If imaging reports are not attached, the referral may be rejected
    • Please specify the name of the imaging service if this information is not visible on the imaging results.
  • All patients over 35 should have updated mammogram with ultrasound with their referral
