Stomal Therapy at Monash Health encompasses Clinical Nurse Consultants, who have completed a minimum of a Post Graduate Certificate. Patients across all Monash Health campuses, including Casey Hospital, Dandenong Hospital, Monash Medical Centre, Monash Children’s Hospital, Kingston Centre, Moorabbin Hospital and the Victorian Heart Hospital are covered by four dedicated and passionate teams of Stomal Therapists.
Referrals are made to our service by Monash Health staff from Nursing, Medical or Allied Health through our internal referrals process for inpatients only. The Stomal Therapy Departments work within business hours Monday- Friday, excluding public holidays.
Currently there is no outpatient service for Stomal Therapy at Monash Health. GP’s can refer patients for wound care through Monash Health for either Vascular Clinic, Plastics Clinic or Dermatology Clinic as appropriate.
Monash Health provides an extensive range of medical and surgical specialist clinics supported by multidisciplinary staff across Monash Health’s acute and community health sites.
