Stomal Therapy

We offer inpatient reviews and management plans for both wounds and stomas as well as pre-operative education and marking prior to stoma formation.

Who we are

Patients across all Monash Health campuses, including Casey Hospital, Dandenong Hospital, Monash Medical Centre, Monash Children’s Hospital, Kingston Centre, Moorabbin Hospital and the Victorian Heart Hospital are covered by four dedicated and passionate teams of Stomal Therapists.

  • Post-operative education to patients with new stomas in order to gain independence with stoma cares prior to discharge.
  • Additional stoma support or troubleshooting of existing stoma patients when in hospital.
  • Completing the Medicare forms associated with the Stoma Appliance Scheme and assisting with ordering queries for Monash Health stoma patients.
  • Completing NDIS support paperwork where appropriate.
  • Complex wound care plans and reviews for inpatients at Monash Health.
