Dr Pranav Dorwal

Dr Pranav Dorwal is a Molecular and Anatomical Pathologist, who works in the departments of Diagnostic Genomics and Anatomical Pathology at Monash Health. His areas of interest include Molecular Pathology, Haematolymphoid Pathology and Renal Pathology. He has received molecular pathology certification from the RCPA.
Dr Dorwal has strong interest in medical education and research and has more than 60 publications to his credit. He also holds an adjunct appointment with the Monash University, where he is involved in pathology teaching for medical students. He is an examiner for molecular pathology examinations and part of digital pathology subcommittee and SIMG (specialist international medical graduates) panel with the RCPA. He has experience of setting up new assays/ tests in Australia and NZ in ISO:15189 environments. He has spent time at the molecular pathology services at MD Anderson Cancer Centre (Houston, TX, USA) and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC, NY, USA). He has undertaken visiting fellowship at Australian National University (ANU), Canberra and was awarded chancellor’s gold medal during Diploma in Clinical Pathology. Dr Dorwal is a reviewer for many international journals and has been on the council of International Clinical Cytometry Society (ICCS). He has qualified United States Medical Licencing Examinations (USMLE) and obtained ECFMG certification. He has been an American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) certified Specialist in Cytometry (SCYM) and holds Clinical Nephropathology Certification from International Society of Nephrology (ISN). He is also a diplomate of RCPath (UK) and international fellow of the College of American Pathologists.
Away from work, he enjoys spending time with his family and gardening.
