Dr Joanna Loh
Dr Joanna Loh is a specialist clinical and laboratory haematologist. She graduated from the University of Melbourne in 2013. She undertook training at Alfred Health, Monash Health, and Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre/Royal Melbourne Hospital and was admitted as a fellow to the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and Royal College of Pathologists Australasia in 2023. She also holds a Masters of Public Health from the University of Sydney.
In 2024, she completed a fellowship in red blood cell disorders in Toronto General Hospital which is the largest centre for haemoglobinopathies in North America. She also has an interest in obstetric haematology, and attended regular obstetric haematology clinics in Mt Sinai Hospital, Toronto.
She currently holds a research fellow position with the Transfusion Research Unit, Monash University, implementing the National Transfusion Dataset and completing work on massive transfusion. Her other research areas include hemoglobinopathies, obstetric haematology, thrombotic microangiopathy and global health/implementation science.
