Day Stay Program

Learn more about the Day Stay Program.

The day stay unit has four separate rooms each with its own cot, where parents can settle their babies with one-on-one support from staff. There is a comfortable area with age-appropriate toys and a small kitchen where families can enjoy refreshments and a light lunch.

What to expect

At the Murrumbek Casey Early Parenting Centre, we aim to provide a culturally sensitive and inclusive service to a diverse range of families and welcome parenting partners to join you during your stay.

It’s normal for some families to feel overwhelmed before they visit the centre; our staff will support you as you build confidence. Our team is passionate about providing the highest standards of care for families who come into the centre.

After your stay

We understand that change doesn’t happen overnight; our team is committed to supporting you and your family once you return home. One of our clinicians will contact you a week after your stay, to check in on how you are putting your new strategies into practice.

You may also be eligible for the Homebased Support Program, where one of our team can visit you at home.

What to bring

  • Medicare Card, Health Care Card, Pension Card, if applicable, for each person attending
  • Your Child’s Health Record if available (Green Book)
  • Security items (dummies, special toys, blankets) clearly labelled with your child’s name
  • Details of any dietary requirements
  • Age-appropriate food for lunch and snacks for your child; parents can enjoy a light lunch at the centre
  • All the things you need for feeding: formula, teats and bottles (sterilising equipment and bottle warmers are available at the centre)
