Ian is Director of Monash Simulation and an Emergency Physician at Casey Hospital.
He is passionate about simulation education and team training and the use of simulation for improving patient care. He has a special interest in airway management and resuscitation.
He has been providing centre -based and in-situ simulation education and debriefing for two decades, and has also been Deputy Director of Casey ED in its original set-up , Director of Emergency Training at St Vincent’s and an ACEM College examiner.
He is on the faculty of the International teaching group “The Debriefing Academy” and has taught internationally with Richard Levitan on his cadaver airway courses, for Alfred CIA and enjoys running workshops and presenting using simulation on stage at a variety of conferences including Don’t Forget the Bubbles, BadEM, EMSA and Sim Congress and as part of Monash University Graduate Certificate of Clinical Simulation and Nhet-Sim.
