Victorian Government announces a new $134.6 million facility at Kingston

We were delighted this morning to welcome the Minister for Disability, Ageing, and Carers Luke Donnellan MP to our Kingston Centre in Cheltenham.

The Minister toured the facility, met clinical leaders, and outlined plans for a new $134.6 million facility at the site. A brand-new 150-bed aged care facility will cater for residents with complex mental health needs. The design will also make the most of the surrounding natural environment, with residents having open area views, an abundance of natural light, and access to terraces and gardens.Monash Health Chief Executive Andrew Stripp showcasing our Kingston Centre and outlining the plans for the new $134.6 million facility at the site.Monash Health Chief Executive Andrew Stripp said it was an important development that will equip our highly-dedicated aged care teams with the environment they need to provide the best care possible.

“Our teams provide outstanding care in buildings which are now quite dated. It will provide significant clinical benefits to have a facility designed to promote resident mobility, independence, and social interactions.”

The Minister was joined on his visit by the member for Clarinda Meng Heang Tak MP, Member for South Eastern Metropolitan Region Tien Kieu MP, and Member for South Eastern Metropolitan Region Lee Tarlamis MP

Initial planning has already taken place. Monash Health will work with the Victorian Department of Health & Human Services and the Victorian Health and Human Services Building Authority
on the next stages of design and planning. The facility is scheduled for completion in 2025.
