Do something amazing this November

In Australia, 1 in 12 babies are born prematurely, with many of these babies requiring Neonatal Intensive Care. 

That’s why our Monash Women’s and Newborns team have raised $4419 and walked over 700Km as part of the Premmie Marathon Challenge for Running for Premature Babies.  

During November, the team are lacing up their shoes and walking the walk to raise money and to help save tiny lives. 

Running for Premature Babies is a charity raising funds for life-saving equipment and research that gives critically ill and premature babies a better chance of survival. Monash Newborn at Monash Children’s Hospital and Casey Special Care Nursery have received an incubator, ventilator and an ECG machine from this charity over the last two years. 

“Nurses and midwives and their families from all four of our sites are walking to raise money,” says Jacquie Taylor, Director of Clinical Operations for Monash Newborns. “It’s an important cause close to our hearts, and it’s great to see so many people in our community supporting our fundraising effort.” 

This year, the Monash Women’s and Newborn team hope to raise enough money for a video laryngoscope that will assist in the intubation of our smallest patients.
