Designs for new Aged Care facility released
New images show details of the planned Aged Care facility to be built at the Kingston Centre in Cheltenham.
Plans are in place to demolish the outdated and vacant Eastwood Hostel at the site, to allow for the construction of a 150-bed facility that will promote independence and privacy and will include dementia-friendly features.
The four-storey building will make the most of Kingston Centre’s gardens and natural environment, with improved use of natural light and access to terraces and landscaped garden areas.
The Kingston Centre welcomed the Minister for Disability, Ageing and Carers, Colin Brooks MP to the site last week to unveil the new designs.
Andrew Perta, Deputy Chief Operating Officer, Monash Aged and Rehabilitation, Kingston Centre, welcomed the Minister and spoke about the importance of contemporary design in aged care.

“Early works will commence by the end of the year to deliver this project,” Andrew said. “And by 2025 we expect to finish construction of a facility with features to support residents with a range of complex care and mobility needs, including those living with dementia.”
The 150 beds will be in single bedrooms with private ensuites, grouped into small ‘households’ with kitchen and dining areas. There will be improved social and activity areas, with a dedicated forecourt and improvements to visitor car parking access.
