Associate Professors Claudia Nold and Atul Malhotra are among twelve new mentees welcomed by the Australian Academy of Health and Medical Sciences (AAHMS) in its recent intake.
As Associate Members of AAHMS, the Mentorship Program will see Associate Professors Nold and Malhotra mentored by senior Fellows over three years, while promoting their work and contributing to AAHMS activities.
Associate Professor Malhotra, Senior Consultant Neonatologist at Monash Health Newborn, is enthusiastic about the program.
“I am excited and looking forward to engaging with the Academy and leaders in the health and science field in Australia on this wonderful mentorship program,” he says.
The Mentorship Program run by AAHMS accepts mentees considered to be rising stars in their field, to enhance career development and leadership skills.
Adjunct Associate Professor Nold, Paediatrics at Monash Health, acknowledges the difference guidance and advice can make.
“I feel very fortunate to be accepted into the AAHMS Mentorship Program,” she says.
“I’m very much looking forward to sharing experiences and hearing about my mentor’s perspective.”
AAHMS intakes new mentees twice a year, selected from year-round applications.
After the three-year mentorship, mentees can provide feedback and suggestions to the Mentorship Program committee.
More information about the program can be found on the AAHMS website.
AAHMS mentees are also eligible to be nominated for the AAHMS’ Jian Zhou Medal, an annual award for rising stars making a significant impact in translational medical science.
Our congratulations to Associate Professor Nold and Associate Professor Malhotra as they embark on the Mentorship Program!
