Kanooka Community Childcare Centre

High-quality childcare and early childhood education.

Kanooka is a work based community child care centre located at Monash Health in Clayton. We provide care for children from 6 months to 6 years in a small, nurturing environment.

We have four rooms dedicated to the age groupings below:

Babies
Toddlers
Pre kinder
Kindergarten

Our 4-year-old kindergarten program is registered with and funded by the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development. The education program follows the STEM curriculum, based on the idea of educating students in four specific disciplines — science, technology, engineering and mathematics — in an interdisciplinary and applied approach.

We at Kanooka feel that great potential exists within each and every child. We try to provide an inclusive and empowering learning environment using the latest educational tools.

Our ‘Playbased Curriculum’ embodies these beliefs as it responds to, expands and builds upon the ideas and interests of the children. We do this in close collaboration with parents whom we acknowledge and respect as the first and foremost educators of their children. We encourage and value input from families into our program which enhances our understanding of their values.

We also welcome parent’s participation in their child’s day and invite parents to drop in to breastfeed, play or to simply visit their child at any time.
