What you need

The requirements for your training and qualifications will depend on the type of role you are applying for.

Environmental Services Assistant (also referred to as an ESA)

Responsible for maintaining and cleaning both clinical and non-clinical areas. This includes but is not limited to environmental cleaning, residential and patient room servicing, bathroom and toilet cleaning, waste removal, linen transportation, internal & external detailed cleaning, project, and unscheduled cleaning.

  • Qualification (desirable but not required): Certificate III Cleaning Operations

Patient Services Assistant (also referred to as a PSA)

Ward-based support to Nursing in the delivery of patient care. This role incorporates cleaning, patient meal services, and patient transfer under the direction of clinical teams.

  • Qualification (required): Certificate III Health Services Assistant

Food Services Assistant (also referred to as an FSA)

Responsible for assisting in the preparation, regeneration, plating, delivery/collection of patient meals and sanitising items in kitchen areas and equipment.

  • Qualification (required): SITXFSA001 Use hygienic practices for food safety

Commencement requirements for Support Services roles

Before commencing work with Monash Health, candidates must satisfy the following probity checks:

  • A clear Police Check (Fit2Work) conducted within the last 3 months.
  • A current Employee Working with Children Check Card.
  • Evidence of immunisations as required by Monash Health policy, including 3 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine.
  • Evidence of a valid Visa allowing full working rights with no restrictions (if not an Australian citizen or permanent resident).
  • Completing a Monash Health Fit Test, achieving an appropriate seal with an N95 mask or submitting evidence from a similar test completed at another organisation that meets Monash Health requirements. The option to book a Monash Health Fit Test will be available to successful candidates if required.

Onboarding with Monash Health Bureau

  • Successful applicants will receive an email with a personalised link to the Monash Health onboarding system called PeopleStreme. By accessing their PeopleStreme account through the link, the successful candidate can receive their starter package, letter of offer and employment contract.
  • After receiving their PeopleStreme email, successful candidates will be sent an additional email containing login details granting access to LATTE, the Monash Health eLearning platform.
  • All PeopleStreme documentation must be completed before progressing to the next step of the onboarding process.
  • New Monash Health employees must complete their mandatory training.
  • Further commencement details will be emailed to all successful candidates after completing the required sections of PeopleStreme.
