What you need

To apply for the Monash Health Bureau Casual Bank, Nurses and Midwives must have the following:

  • At least 6 months of proven clinical experience.
  • Current AHPRA registration with no conditions as a Registered Nurse, Midwife or Enrolled Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
  • Additional qualifications relevant to the area(s) you wish to work in if required.
  • A strong focus on safe, patient-centred care and a commitment to practising under Monash Health values, policies and procedures.
  • Well-developed communication skills that facilitate building rapid rapport with patients, families and the multidisciplinary team.
  • A flexible nature that allows you to adapt to changing settings.

Commencement requirements for Nurses and Midwives

Before commencing in clinical areas at Monash Health, Nursing and Midwifery candidates must satisfy the following probity checks:

  • Submit a current, valid Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) registration number, as evidence of registration as a Registered Nurse, Midwife or Enrolled Nurse, with no conditions.
  • Clear Police Check (Fit2Work) conducted within the last 3 months.
  • Submission of a valid Victorian Employee Working with Children’s Card or receipt of payment for the ordered card pending delivery.
  • Evidence of immunisations as required by Monash Health policy, including 3 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine.
  • Evidence of a valid Visa allowing full working rights with no restrictions (if not an Australian citizen or permanent resident).
  • Completing a Monash Health Fit Test, achieving an appropriate seal with an N95 mask or submitting evidence from a similar test completed at another organisation that meets Monash Health requirements. The option to book a Monash Health Fit Test will be available to successful candidates if required.

Video interviews are used to screen candidates for Nursing and Midwifery Casual Bank positions. All candidates are notified of the outcome of their application via email.

Onboarding with Monash Health Bureau

  • Successful applicants will receive an email with a personalised link to the Monash Health onboarding system called PeopleStreme. By accessing their PeopleStreme account through the link, the successful candidate can receive their starter package, letter of offer and employment contract.
  • After receiving their PeopleStreme email, successful candidates will be sent an additional email containing login details granting access to LATTE, the Monash Health eLearning platform.
  • All PeopleStreme documentation must be completed before progressing to the next step of the onboarding process.
  • New Monash Health employees must complete their mandatory training, including Electronic Medical Record (EMR) training, before commencing in the clinical environment.
  • Further commencement details will be emailed to all successful candidates after completing the required sections of PeopleStreme.
