Working with patients from birth to end-of-life, there are unrivalled opportunities for music therapists to grow their careers and work across a broad range of clinical areas at Monash Health. Â
Art Therapy is a growing service at Monash Health, and currently runs within Monash Children’s Hospital and the South Eastern Centre Against Sexual Assault (SECASA).Â
While many music and art therapists work within multidisciplinary teams, Monash Health’s Music and Art Therapy team are proud of their supportive culture, and Grade 1, Grade 2 and senior clinicians meet regularly. Â
There are opportunities for music and art therapists of all career stages to further their education and skillset, including peer-to-peer learning, professional supervision, internal and external professional development and internal research projects. Â
Our comprehensive Grade 1 music therapist rotational program allows for early-career music therapists to gain experience across various Monash Health settings, including acute care, subacute care and Monash Children’s.Â
The music therapy team also run a student program, facilitated in conjunction with the University of Melbourne. Â
There is a range of opportunities available in acute hospital-based care for music therapists at both Monash Medical Centre and Casey Hospital. Â
