Sharing real stories: Hannah calls her time as Agenda Friendships

My friends and I used to always catch up over food, coffee, or drinks, talking about the same things – work, relationships, life. I call this Agenda Friendships, and while I loved seeing them, I started to feel like we weren’t doing anything new together. I wanted to create fresh memories, not just repeat old conversations.

That’s when we decided to try tennis. There are so many courts in our area, and we realised we could book one early on a Saturday morning and split the cost, which was only about $5 each. None of us had played before, but getting started was easier than we thought. Now, we have some solid rallies and spend our weekends laughing, being active, and making new memories together.

My weekly tennis sessions are a fun, cheap way to bond with my friends over a shared experience. They have changed the way I approach my catch-ups and strengthened my relationships with them. Don’t be afraid to try something new! If you can learn alongside a friend, it makes it even more fun.
