Casey Netball Association is the first local sports association to receive recognition for a health area under our Healthy Sports Clubs initiative.
Venue managers Cindy and Sharni worked hard throughout 2023 to implement Sun Protection strategies at Olive Road Sporting Complex. Some of their initiatives include:
- Providing free sunscreen for all venue users.
- Monitoring and communicating temperatures and UV levels at all planned events.
- Implementing a sun protection policy.
- Educating venue users about the importance of sun protection.
Cindy told us their new Sun Protection strategies have been a great conversation starter amongst regular participants and visitors alike.
With 35,000 participants using the venue annually, as well as spectators, family members, and visitors, the positive impacts of these changes will ripple through our community, inspiring healthier habits and promoting a safer environment for all.
We congratulate the Casey Netball Association on this fantastic achievement. The association is now working towards recognition for Injury Prevention.
