Gandel Simulation Symposium

The recent Gandel Simulation Symposium offered an opportunity for the Monash Simulation team to partake in professional development themselves. The team attended morning workshops on Faculty development processes and planning where we were able to listen to other experts in simulation discuss their faculty development process, share ideas and workshop barriers. The second workshop focused on Interprofessional Education and team training, it was great to be able to share with others the great work the Monash Simulation team are doing in this space and again workshop the challenges that this topic raises.

The afternoon session presented unique perspectives on data strategies for translational simulation, the utility of AI in simulation design and reporting and a thought provoking presentation on ways to win support for new simulation initiatives. We heard about the impressive work other simulation services are undertaking and were reminded about the importance of critical thinking when looking at research.

It was great to spend some time as a team focusing on our individual and team development, learn more about what is happening in the simulation landscape across Victoria, connect with old simulation colleagues and make new connections for exciting new opportunities the Monash Simulation Team can partake in.
