
Dr Adrian Praeger serves as Head of Neuro-oncology at the Department of Neurosurgery, Monash Health. His clinical focus is the patient centred care of people with brain tumours (gliomas, meningiomas, acoustic neuromas and metastasis), and trigeminal neuralgia. His expertise extends to the endoscopic (“keyhole”) management of common spinal conditions.
Committed to education and academic advancement, Dr Praeger serves as the Supervisor of Surgical Education and Training (SET) in Neurosurgery and is an Adjunct Senior Lecturer in the Department of Surgery at Monash University. His research interests include neuro-oncology, trigeminal neuralgia, and spinal surgery outcomes. He is heavily involved in the Monash Brain/Spine Lesion Biobank and its research output.
He graduated from the University of Melbourne in 2006 and completed advanced neurosurgical training at leading centres in Melbourne, Sydney, Canberra, and Bonn, Germany. He was awarded Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) in Neurosurgery in 2020 and has been practicing at Monash Health since then.
