They help some of the most critically ill children, helping treat severe chest infections, managing seizures, and providing essential breathing support after major surgeries. These ventilators also assist children with chronic respiratory issues, ensuring they can breathe more easily and recover more quickly.
Dr Sunit Matha, Acting Director Monash Childrens Hospital Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) says, “A new ventilator in the PICU isn’t just a piece of equipment; it’s a lifeline for our youngest and most fragile patients. It can mean the difference between a child struggling to breathe and a child who is comfortable and safe. This vital support gives families a glimmer of hope in the most challenging moments, knowing that their loved one is getting the best possible care.”
By improving our current ventilator systems, we can continue to provide life support and offer hope to countless families in their most challenging times.

Every breath counts…and so does your support.
