Monash Children’s would like to offer nurses interested in working within the paediatric environment the opportunity to participate in the Paediatric Transition to Specialty Program (TSP).
The program aims to provide participants with the theoretical and practical foundation required to work competently and effectively as a paediatric nurse beginning practitioner within a variety of paediatric clinical areas.
The TSP will provide nurses with the opportunity to rotate through paediatric specific areas at Monash Children’s Hospital in specialties such as medical, surgical, adolescent, rehabilitation, newborns, emergency, and paediatric ICU. Included in the TSP is a program orientation day, supernumerary time, an online learning programme and continued clinical support from Clinical Support Nurses.
Program Commencement
The Paediatric TSP is a 12-month program commencing around February each year and participants will be employed at 0.84EFT.
Pre-requisites
- Australian Registered with Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia via AHPRA
- Completed a Graduate Nurse Program
- Current and satisfactory Police and Working with Children Checks, as per Working with Children Act 2005
- Acute nursing experience within the last 12 months
