Our Palliative Care Teams

Monash Health palliative care teams include both healthcare professionals and volunteers. These teams work with your existing care team, which may include your GP, specialists, or other community care services.

Healthcare team

Our team provides diverse support that is tailored to the needs of each person. The team includes:

• Doctors
• Nurses
• Social workers
• Spiritual care
• Occupational therapists
• Physiotherapists
• Pharmacy
• Music therapy

Patients, families and caregivers are also a very important part of the care team.

Volunteers

Volunteers are also part of the Palliative Care team and offer services such as:

• Relaxation activities
• Social support
• Legacy creation
• Pet therapy

Research team

Our research team collaborates with Monash University and includes palliative medicine fellows, post-doctoral researchers, and research assistants.
