
Dr Reece Sher is an Australian-trained Neurosurgeon with advanced expertise in minimally invasive spinal reconstruction surgery, cerebrovascular surgery, and neuro-oncology. With a background in diagnostic radiography, post-fellowship training, and a strong foundation in clinical research, Dr Sher brings a unique and comprehensive perspective to patient care.
Dr Sher’s practice is centred on preserving mobility and optimising functional outcomes, while minimising both surgical and non-surgical complications. Dr Sher has trained with more than 30 leading neurosurgeons and over six orthopaedic spinal surgeons across prestigious institutions in Australia and abroad. He is proficient in both traditional open and modern keyhole surgical techniques, incorporating cutting-edge adjuncts such as stereotaxy, neuromonitoring, and robotics to tailor personalised surgical strategies when required.
A passionate educator and academic, Dr Sher is an Adjunct Senior Lecturer at Monash University and actively leads local and international research initiatives. He chairs the Monash Combined Neuroscience Meetings and is the founder of the annual Monash Spine Symposium. Dr Sher is regularly invited to speak and teach at major national and international conferences, contributing to the ongoing advancement of neurosurgical and spinal care.
